Visual Freedom Center
in Fairfax, Virginia the Dunning Group Architects provided the architectural and engineering design services for this project.  Other professional services included building permit expediting and construction administration services.

This facility was an experiment in placing a medical surgery center in a mall-retail environment.  It was intended to create a greater awareness of lasik (laser) eye surgery, its availability, its success and relatively painless process.  The surgery center was designed to be a very open and inviting facility.  The surgery rooms were designed in glass enclosures to allow people to watch the process.  In addition the surgery was televised to plasma-monitors along the storefront to attract the passerby.  The facility provided an education area, consultation rooms, a complete surgery facility, exam rooms and doctor’s offices.  Design services were provided for locations in Virginia, Maryland and Illinois.
